Buenos Tardes Amigos!

We enjoyed another relatively leisurely early morning, with a delicious breakfast at the hotel-- our last easy morning for a while. We were picked up and delivered to Huaypo Lake for kayaking. We had been a little puzzled by what this morning's activity would be. Early indications had us kayaking, but the last packet of info referred to a "sail." Freddy advised us to bring a dry change of clothes.

At the facility, we met Hans who would be our kayak guide for the morning. It took some doing to get us all ready, changing into different footwear and finding the right lifejacket, etc. Finally, we were off into the lovely lake, with the Andes as a backdrop and a whole bunch of ducks to entertain us. The lake was calm and lovely. And we didn't see even one boulder in the lake! Only a whole lot of vegetation. We were out for a couple of hours.

Once we got back to dry land, we were treated to a lovely lunch, Peruvian picnic style:

Then it was time for a little siesta:

Before too long, Freddy and Juan showed up to whisk us away to our next visit, this time to the Moray archaeological site, another amazing Inca marvel of agriculture:

Then, we visited the Maras salt extravaganza:

After all of this adventure, we were delivered back to the hotel, where we enjoyed cookies and tea on our patio. Then, it was time to deal with some laundry and packing. Now we are enjoying pisco sours in the hotel bar. Dinner awaits.
